ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Harding baseball will play a single non-conference game Tuesday against Henderson State at Clyde Berry Field. First pitch will be at 3 p.m.
Harding (22-19) was swept in the three-game home series last weekend by Arkansas Tech. Henderson State (21-18) won once in its three-game road series at Southern Arkansas.
Harding and Henderson State met earlier this season in Searcy with the Reddies taking two of three from the Bisons at Jerry Moore Field.
Both
Chase Presley and
Kyle Atkins went 6-for-11 (.545) in the series against Henderson State. Presley had a double and scored two runs, and Atkins had a double, drove in three, and scored twice.
Senior
Alex Smith (0-1, 4.01) will make his fifth start of the season for the Bisons. In his last start, Smith went six innings and allowed seven hits and one earned run in a no-decision against Christian Brothers on Apr. 10. He pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings of relief against Henderson State in the series earlier this season.
Smith has pitched 3 1/3 scoreless innings in two appearances in his career against Henderson State, but Tuesday's game will be his first start versus the Reddies.
Harding returns to Great American Conference action Saturday against Southeastern Oklahoma State in Durant.
