Box Score SEARCY – Southern Arkansas had six hits and scored four runs in the sixth inning to come from behind and defeat Harding baseball 8-3 on Tuesday at Jerry Moore Field.
The Bisons (19-14) led 3-1 after five innings with senior
Chase Presley driving in all three Harding runs.
Southern Arkansas (22-11) took the lead for good in the sixth. Five of the first six hitters in the inning had base hits off Harding starter
Ryan Modglin (2-2) before reliever
Josh Spears came on in relief. Modglin gave up nine hits and five earned runs in 5 1/3 innings.
The Muleriders added three more in the eighth off reliever
Cameron Walker.
Harding had nine hits in the game with Presley and
Billy Ninemire recording three each. It was the third 3-hit game in the last four outings for Presley.
Tyler Stanford also had a double and scored two runs.
Southern Arkansas reliever Jon Mark Abbey (2-2) picked up the win. He went 3 1/3 innings and allowed only two hits and no runs.
Eight of the nine starters for the Muleriders had a least one hit in the 13-hit attack.
Harding returns to Great American Conference play Friday at noon with a doubleheader at Ouachita Baptist. The two teams conclude the three-game series Saturday at 1 p.m.
