HU Men's Basketball Faces Thursday Road Test at Henderson State

SEARCY – Harding men's basketball will go back on the road Thursday and meet Henderson State in Arkadelphia, Ark. The game is scheduled to be played at 7:30 p.m. at the Duke Wells Center, but both time and/or location could change because of the presence of bats in the facility. Harding has won its last three games, including two Great American Conference games, and has improved to 10-3 overall and 3-2 in conference play. The Bisons are in a three-way tie for third place in the conference standings. The third-place tie includes Henderson State and Southwestern Oklahoma State.

Southeastern Oklahoma State currently leads the GAC with a 5-1 record and is followed by Arkansas Tech at 4-1.

Harding is coming off an 82-66 victory over Northwestern Oklahoma State on Saturday at Rhodes Field House. The Bisons made 13 3-pointers in the game, and senior Adam Sterrenberg scored a season-high 16 points. Harding has made 10 or more 3-pointers in a game five times this season and leads the GAC with 8.3 3-pointers per game.

Harding enters the game with two players ranked in the top 10 nationally in a statistical category. Senior Zach Roddenberry ranks fifth in Division II in field goal percentage at 68.4 percent, and freshman Tony Cochran is 10th in Division II in 3-point field goal percentage at 47.8 percent.

Henderson State is 8-3 overall and undefeated in four home games this season. The Reddies have played five straight road games and could be playing at home for the first time since Dec. 1.

Henderson State is led by senior Andrew Ensley, a 6-5 forward from Dallas, Texas, and a transfer from Independence Community College in Kansas. Ensley is third in the conference in scoring at 18.4 points per game.

Henderson State leads the all-time series with Harding 72-37 overall and 38-13 in Arkadelphia. The Bisons have controlled the series of late, winning six of the last seven. The teams split last season's games. Harding won 78-62 in Searcy, and Henderson State won 80-69 in Arkadelphia.
