HU Baseball Hosts Arkansas-Fort Smith on Wednesday

SEARCY – Harding baseball returns to Jerry Moore Field on Wednesday for a non-conference game against Arkansas-Fort Smith. First pitch is at 4 p.m., and the game will air live on HardingSports.com.

Harding (9-4) is coming off a three-game Great American Conference series against Southeastern Oklahoma in which the Bisons won the second of the three games. Harding is 8-1 at home this season, including its 12-2 victory over then No. 1-ranked Delta State last Wednesday.

The Bisons' hottest hitter entering Wednesday's game is junior Victor Guerra, who has a team-best five-game hitting streak. He is hitting .313 during the streak with three runs and two RBI.

Senior Billy Ninemire has hit in his last four straight and has hits in eight of his last nine games. He has five multi-hit games during that stretch and three multi-RBI games. Ninemire leads the team with 16 hits and 13 runs and is tied for the team lead with 10 RBI.

Freshman Collin Campbell (1-0) will make his third start of the season and is scheduled to pitch no more than three innings. Campbell earned his first collegiate win against Delta State, allowing only one earned run in five innings with five strikeouts. Harding head coach Dr. Patrick McGaha plans to use as many as six pitchers in the game.

Arkansas-Fort Smith (9-5) has won four straight and is coming off a three-game Heartland Conference sweep of Oklahoma Panhandle State on Sunday and Monday in Goodwell, Okla.

Harding and Arkansas-Fort Smith will be playing for only the fifth time with UAFS leading the series 3-1.
