RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Harding women's tennis had its four-match winning streak snapped Thursday with a 7-2 non-conference loss to Arkansas Tech.
Harding dropped to 6-4 overall, and Arkansas Tech improved to 3-3 overall. The teams meet again in Searcy on April 4 in a Great American Conference match.
Freshman Ali Rowden had a hand in both of Harding's points. She teamed with Benyapa Phumtip at No. 1 doubles to earn an 8-4 victory. Rowden and Phumtip are 5-1 as a team and have won their last three matches.
Rowden added another victory in singles with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Aida Castany at No. 2. Rowden is 6-2 in singles play this season and has won three straight.
The match was the last for the Lady Bisons until March 20 when Harding meets Christian Brothers in Memphis, Tenn.
