SEARCY – The Harding women's tennis team earned the 400th and 401st victories in program history this week. The Lady Bisons (11-7) defeated Henderson State 9-0 on Monday in Great American Conference play and downed regional foe LeMoyne-Owen 8-1 on Tuesday.
With the victory over Henderson State, Harding improved to 2-2 in conference play with two matches remaining. Harding plays East Central on Friday in Searcy and meets Southeastern Oklahoma State on Monday in Durant, Okla.
Junior Kaleigh Wagner leads Harding with 11 singles victories, one head of freshman Ali Rowden. Katie Huff has nine wins, and Benyapa Phumtip has eight. The Lady Bisons' top doubles team is the pairing of Phumtip and Rowden, who are 7-3 overall, all at No. 1. Overall, Phumtip leads Harding with 11 doubles wins.
Harding began the women's program in 1991. David Elliott has been the program's only head coach.
