ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Harding's starting pitchers combined to pitch 13 innings without allowing an early run and the Bisons split a non-conference doubleheader Tuesday against Henderson State. The Reddies won the opener 1-0 on a bases-loaded single in the bottom of the 10th, and the Bisons came back to score runs in four of the first five innings of game two to win 6-1.

Harding moved to 9-5 on the season and hosts Southeastern Oklahoma for a three-game Great American conference series on Friday and Saturday at Jerry Moore Field.

Henderson State is now 4-11 overall. The Reddies play three GAC games at Arkansas-Monticello this weekend.

Game 1

Henderson State's Lance Fields singled with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 10th inning to give the Reddies the 1-0 victory.

Harding had at least one baserunner on in seven of the first eight innings but could not push a run across. The Bisons stranded seven runners and went 0-for-9 with runners on base. The Reddies were 0-for-12 with runners on base before Fields' game-winning hit.

The Bisons' defense turned double plays to end the third, fourth, and sixth innings.

Henderson State starter freshman Dylan Howell pitched seven innings and allowed five hits and two walks and struck out one. Freshman Luke Tebbetts came in to start the eighth and pitched three scoreless innings to earn the win.

Harding sophomore Andrew Fiddler pitched a career-high eight innings and struck out eight, allowing only three hits and three walks. He has struck out eight batters in each of his three starts. Senior Tyler Stanford entered in the ninth and escaped the inning without any damage.

Henderson State's Conner Brackhahn led off the 10th with a single and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt. Stanford intentionally walked Hayden Lessenberry before striking out Tadarious Hawkins. He then hit Carlos Rodriguez with two outs to load the bases and set the stage for Fields.

Harding's James Anderson was 2-for-4 with two singles. It was his fifth multi-hit game of the season. Zac Stewart was 1-for-3 with a triple.

Game 2

Harding scored in four of the first five innings, and sophomore right-hander Jacob Stripling did not allow an earned run in five solid innings in his first collegiate start as the Bisons won 6-1.

Four of Harding's first five runs scored on sacrifice flies. It was the first time in program history that Harding had four sacrifice flies in a game.

Harding senior Matt Calhoun scored runners on sacrifice flies in the first and fifth innings. Shane Kinnear had one in the second, and Alan Copeland had one in the fourth. Noah Chandler drove in a run with a double in the fourth, and Harding scored its last run when Copeland stole home in the seventh on a double steal.
