HU Women's Tennis Battles Hendrix Thursday in Conway

Harding Notes

Harding opens the spring portion of its 2013-14 tennis schedule Thursday when it takes on NCAA Division III foe Hendrix. It will be the 41st meeting between the schools.

Harding split its two fall matches with a 9-0 victory over Rhodes and an 8-1 loss to Arkansas-Fort Smith.

Harding enters the spring ninth in the NCAA Division II Central Region by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

Harding's Benyapa Phumtip is ranked ninth in the Central Region in singles.

Including tournament matches, Harding had a 30-26 singles record and 10-11 doubles record in the fall. Phumtip won a team-best six singles matches in the fall, and the doubles team of Piper Huey and Ali Rowden won three times.

Hendrix is a member of the NCAA Division III Southern Athletics Association and are unranked.

Hendrix won its only dual match of the fall, defeating University of the Ozarks 8-1. Including tournament matches, the Lady Warriors were 10-10 in singles matches and 3-2 in doubles.
