Harding's women return to the courts for the first time in 17 days on Tuesday and play their first home match of the spring Tuesday when they host Henderson State at 3 p.m. in Great American Conference action. It will be Harding's first conference match of the season.
Harding is 5-5 on the season but is coming off a pair of road losses to nationally-ranked Southwest Baptist and Drury prior to Spring Break.
The Lady Bisons are currently ranked No. 9 in the ITA NCAA II Central Region.
Harding has a 56-42 record in all singles matches this season, including 33-21 in dual matches. The Lady Bisons have a 24-21 record in doubles, including 17-13 in dual matches. Benyapa Phumtip has a team-high 11 singles victories this season and 44 in her career.
The ITA has recently signed an agreement with Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) to aid in its ranking of collegiate tennis players. A player's UTR is based on a scale from 1-16 with 16 being an elite professional player.
Harding's top six singles players by UTR are: Benyapa Phumtip (7.70), Piper Huey (7.40), Ali Rowden (6.74), Lauren Doversola (5.62), Kaleigh Wagner (5.59) and Arielle Butler (5.38).
Henderson State enters the match 3-9 overall and coming off a 4-3 loss at Grambling State on Sunday. The Lady Reddies two conference losses are to Southeastern Oklahoma (7-2) and Southern Nazarene (5-4).
Henderson State's top six singles players by UTR are: Hannah Watson (5.46), Sara Griffin (5.44), Sarah Camras (4.89), Brittany Harness (4.00), Maddie McJenkins (4.00), and Tyler Reaves (3.00).
Harding has won seven of the last eight meetings between the teams.
