Harding
Coming off its first victory of the season, a 2-1 MIAA triumph over Southern Nazarene on Thursday, Harding returns to non-conference action to meet Oklahoma Christian on Saturday at 3 p.m. It will be the first meeting between the teams in men's soccer.
Senior Jacob Stevens scored both goals for Harding in the victory over Southern Nazarene, including the game-winner from near midfield in the 36th minute. It was his first career two-goal game and his fourth career game-winning goal. Stevens now has eight career goals.
Harding's stat leaders after three games: GOALS – Jacob Stevens & Dylan Sherrill (2); ASSISTS – Jacob Stevens & Gehrig Haberstock (1); SHOTS – Daniel Gamboa (7).
Haberstock and Phillip White, both defenders, and freshman goalkeeper Thomas Shults are the only Harding players to play all 270 minutes thus far.
Ian Park, Harding's leading active goal scorer with 11 goals, has missed the last two games with an injury and will not play against Oklahoma Christian. Sherrill also did not play against Southern Nazarene and is out for the Oklahoma Christian game.
Oklahoma Christian
Oklahoma Christian is a provisional member of the NCAA Division II Heartland Conference. The Eagles enter the game with Harding with a 1-2-0 record, having played all three games at home.
Oklahoma Christian has scored five goals and allowed seven goals in its first three games. The Eagles are coming off a 4-0 home loss to Colorado Mines on Sunday. Oklahoma Christian's lone victory was a 3-0 win over Ouachita Baptist on Sept. 12.
Sophomore midfielder Ante Susic has scored three of the Eagles' five goals, including the game-winner against Ouachita Baptist.
