Harding Notes
The weather has played havoc with Harding's schedule for the week. The Bisons' game with Delta State on Wednesday was cancelled due to weather, and the weekend series with Ouachita Baptist has also been in flux. The game schedule for Saturday at 3 p.m., has been canceled due to rain in Searcy, Ark. For the final two games in the series, the teams will play in Arkadelphia, Ark., starting at 12 p.m., on Sunday.
Harding enters the series 5-4 overall and 1-2 in conference play after winning the first game of a three-game series last weekend at Henderson State. The Bisons took the opener 3-0 before falling 10-3 and 4-1 in Saturday's doubleheader.
Harding's pitching staff opens the series ranked second in the GAC with a 2.04 ERA and opponents' batting average (.219). Junior right-hander Collin Campbell is 2-0 and has not allowed an earned run in 13 2-3 innings.
Junior Harrison Hunter has led the Bison offense, hitting .412 with seven runs scored. He is 8-for-12 this season with runners on base and has a team-best five-game hitting streak. Hunter is one of three Bisons who have reached base in all nine games. Noah Chandler and Zac Stewart have also reached at least once in each game.
Ouachita Baptist Notes
Ouachita Baptist is 6-4 overall and 3-0 in the GAC after sweeping their first series against Arkansas Tech.
The Tigers are hitting .289 as a team and scoring 5.9 runs per game. Sophomore infielder Justin Weigle leads Ouachita Baptist with a .394 average and has scored eight and driven in seven.
Ouachita's pitching staff has a 4.10 ERA and a .269 opponents' batting average. Starters John Franklin Matros and Connor Eller are both 2-0.
