Harding Notes
The weather has continued to play havoc with Harding's schedule, so to make up for missed games, the Bisons will play a six-game series against St. Cloud State, a member of the NCAA II Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference located in St. Cloud, Minnesota.
Harding enters the series 5-5 and is coming off a 10-3 loss in Great American Conference play at Ouachita Baptist last weekend. The teams were only able to play one of the three games in the series due to the weather.
Junior outfielder Harrison Hunter and junior third baseman Noah Chandler have led the Harding offense. Both players have reached base in all 10 games thus far. Hunter is hitting a team-leading .389 and also leads the team with seven runs and a .488 on-base percentage. Chandler is hitting .300 with a .475 on-base percentage.
Harding's pitching staff enters the series with a 2.89 ERA and has limited opponents to a .241 batting average. Junior reliever Hunter Payne has been outstanding out of the bullpen. He has not allowed an earned run in 7 2-3 innings and has only allowed four hits in the 27 at-bats against him.
St. Cloud State Notes
St. Cloud State will be playing its first games of the 2015 season. Last year, the Huskies were 37-14 overall and 24-9 in the NSIC.
St. Cloud was selected ninth in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association Preseason All-Central Region Poll. Junior pitcher Reese Gregory was selected to the NCBWA Division II All-America Team after notching a 10-3 record and 1.30 ERA. He had seven saves and struck out 58 in 55 1-3 innings.
The Huskies were selected second in the NSIC Preseason Poll. Minnesota State is the conference favorite.
