Lady Bison Tennis Falls 5-4 to Southern Nazarene in GAC Opener

BETHANY, Okla. - Southern Nazarene won two of the three doubles matches and split the six singles matches to take a 5-4 victory over Harding on Saturday in the Lady Bisons' conference opener.

Harding fell to 8-3 overall and 0-1 in the Great American Conference. The Lady Bisons' next action is Tuesday against Arkansas-Fort Smith. Southern Nazarene improved to 2-4 overall and 2-1 in conference.

Harding's point in doubles came at No. 3 where Piper Huey and Sydni Sansom teamed for the first time to win 8-1.

Brittany Smyser won her second straight singles match and improved to 8-4 with a three-set victory at No. 4. It was Smyser's first career three-set victory. Emily Faulkner won her third straight match at No. 5, a 6-3, 6-2 victory. Kaylie Brown also won her second straight match at No. 6 by a 6-4, 6-3 score.
