Smyser Wins 10th Singles Match; HU Falls to No. 43 Dallas Baptist

TEXARKANA, Ark. - Harding freshman Brittany Smyser became the second Lady Bison to reach 10 singles victory this season, but No. 43 Dallas Baptist defeated Harding 8-1 on Tuesday in a non-conference matchup.

Smyser, a native of Abilene, Texas, won 6-3, 7-5 at No. 5 for her second victory in her last three matches. Her 10 singles victories are second on the team behind only Piper Huey's 12 wins. Huey also had an outstanding effort before dropping a third-set tiebreaker to Natalie Gennisseen, the 41st-ranked singles player in NCAA Division II.

Harding (8-8) returns to Great American Conference action on Thursday in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, against Henderson State. Dallas Baptist (12-2) won its eighth straight match.
