SEARCY – The Harding baseball team, currently in first place in the Great American Conference, will play its final non-conference game of the regular season Wednesday. The Bisons will host Southern Arkansas at 3 p.m. at Jerry Moore Field.
Harding (26-19) has won nine of its last 12 games and has won 10 straight conference games. The Bisons will start sophomore Andrew Ralston, who is 2-2 with a 6.04 ERA.
Southern Arkansas is 31-15 overall and has won five of its last six. The Muleriders won two of three games against the Bisons in the conference series in Magnolia despite being outscored 13-6 in the three games.
Junior outfielder Zac Stewart carries a team-best six-game hitting streak into the game. He is 8 for 21 (.381) during that span.
Harding will honor its three seniors—pitcher Nick Ford, outfielder Shane Kinnear, and infielder Kyler Offenbacker—in a ceremony prior to the game. The team will also announce the 2015 Tom Hull Teammate Award, presented annually to the Bison baseball player whose actions and efforts both on and off the field best exemplify the concepts and ideals of Harding Baseball such as inspiration, unselfishness and commitment to the team.
