Harding Women's Tennis Earns GAC Victory over Ouachita Baptist

SEARCY - Harding won all three doubles matches, including the 50th doubles win in the career of senior Katie Huff, and the Lady Bisons collected their first Great American Conference victory. Harding defeated Ouachita Baptist 6-3 in the first of three straight conference matches.

The Lady Bisons (8-6, 1-1) travel to Durant, Oklahoma, on Friday to meet GAC leader Southeastern Oklahoma.

Harding swept doubles for the seventh time this season, and the Lady Bisons are now 7-0 in those matches. Huff, who became the 18th Lady Bison with 50 doubles victories, combined with Arielle Butler to win 9-8 in a tiebreaker. The all-freshman duo of Brittany Smyser and Emily Faulkner won 8-5 at No. 2, and Piper Huey and Sydni Sansom earned their second doubles victory together 8-2 at No. 3.

Harding won three of the six singles matches, with Huey (No. 1), Smyser (No. 4), and Faulkner (No. 5) all winning in straight sets. Huey's win was her team-leading 12th. Smyser won her ninth, and Faulkner her seventh.
