Nebraska-Kearney Women's Tennis Defeats Harding 6-3

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - Harding women's tennis suffered its first loss in its last three matches, falling 6-3 to Nebraska-Kearney on Saturday.

Harding fell to 4-4 overall and 3-2 in both regional matches and Division II matches. Nebraska-Kearney, ranked No. 5 in the ITA Central Region, improved to 7-1.

Harding won one of the three doubles matches, with Piper Huey and Laura Golubic winning 9-8 at No. 1 over Yuxiu Sun and Sthefani Rodriguez. Huey and Golubic won their second straight matches and improved to 3-5 in dual matches.

It was Huey and Golubic again in singles who picked up points for the Lady Bisons. Huey won 6-4, 7-6 over Sun at No. 1, and Golubic won 4-6, 6-3, 10-6 over Rodriguez at No. 2. Huey won her second straight and for the fourth time in her last six matches. She is 4-4 in dual singles matches at No. 1. Golubic has won a team-best three straight matches and is 5-3 at No. 2 singles. She is 1-1 this season in three-set matches.
