THE SERIES
Series Record: Arkansas Tech leads 107-54

Harding and Arkansas Tech played a non-conference game this season on March 7 in Russellville, with the Bisons winning 6-1. Harding had 12 hits, including a 3-for-4 effort from Davis Richardson. Freshman Blake Coward was 2-for-5 with three RBIs. Sophomore Reed Roberts did not allow an earned run on eight hits over six innings and earned the win. Last season, the teams played five games, all in Russellville, with Arkansas Tech winning four, including all three in the GAC series.

From the record book: In 2003, Harding infielder Jake Kirby tripled twice against Arkansas Tech becoming the first Bison with two triples in a game. In 2008, Ben Rodriguez matched that feat with two triples against Central Baptist.

WATCH TO WATCH FOR
Harding and Arkansas Tech are two of five teams in the Great American Conference who are fighting for three remaining spots in the GAC Tournament. The Bisons are 13-17 in conference games and seventh in the standings. Arkansas Tech is one of three teams tied for eighth at 11-19.
 
The top eight teams qualify for the GAC Tournament with the top four teams hosting a three-game series to determine who moves on to the four-team tournament in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.

Harding won one of three games last weekend at Southwestern Oklahoma. The Bisons won 6-2 in the opener with senior Andrew Fiddler limiting the top offense in the GAC to only two runs on nine hits over 6 2/3 innings. Harding had 12 hits with Zac Stewart driving in two runs and Alan Copeland scoring twice. Southwestern won both games of Saturday's doubleheader 10-3 and 9-3. Harding won its midweek game Tuesday with a 5-1 victory over Union with five Bison pitchers limiting the Bulldogs to only four hits and no walks with nine strikeouts.

Arkansas Tech won two of three at Northwestern Oklahoma last weekend and defeated Arkansas-Monticello 4-3 on Tuesday in a non-conference game.

Harding ranks eighth in the GAC in scoring with 4.7 runs per game with Arkansas Tech fifth at 5.0 runs per game. Harding is fourth in ERA at 4.50 with Arkansas Tech ninth at 6.16. The Bisons are fourth in fielding percentage at .969 with the Wonder Boys third at .971.

Arkansas Tech leads the GAC with 21 sacrifice flies and is second with 56 stolen bases.

The series will feature the top two players in the GAC in doubles. Harding's Zac Stewart leads with 15, followed by Arkansas Tech's Josh Watkins with 13. Stewart also leads the conference with seven triples and 71 hits.
 
Fiddler continues to lead the GAC in strikeout-to-walk ratio (6.20) and walks per nine innings (1.03). Senior Jacob Stripling has a GAC-leading 23 appearances.
