Harding Women's Tennis Blanks Hendrix 9-0, Wins Third Straight

CONWAY, Ark. - Two freshmen made their dual match debuts for Harding, and the Lady Bisons cruised to a 9-0 victory over NCAA Division III Hendrix on Wednesday indoors at the Hatcher Tennis Center.

Harding improved to 3-0 with the victory and have won 17 of 18 singles matches and all nine doubles matches in their three duals thus far.

Freshman Katie Conrad made her dual match debut with senior Arielle Butler at No. 3 singles and won 8-0. Senior Piper Huey and junior Laura Golubic improved to 8-1 this season with an 8-3 victory at No. 1. Junior Emily Faulkner and freshman Milou Dalmolen improved to 3-0 as a duo with an 8-2 victory at No. 2.

Harding swept the singles matches without losing a set. Butler won her team-leading ninth singles match 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4. It was her 47th career singles victory. Huey won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1 for her 55th career singles victory, tying her with Melody Miller (1992-96) for 14th in career wins at Harding. Freshman Erin Young played her first dual singles match, winning 6-1, 6-2 at No. 6.

Harding's next match will also be its home opener. The Lady Bisons host ninth-ranked Northeastern State on Thursday, Feb. 16 at the Harding Tennis Courts.
