Harding Women's Tennis Falls to Southeastern Oklahoma in GAC Tournament Finals

BENTONVILLE, Ark. – Southeastern Oklahoma won two of the three doubles matches and the first three singles matches to defeat Harding 5-1 on Saturday in the finals of the Great American Conference Women's Tennis Tournament.

The loss drops Harding to 15-7 overall, but the Lady Bisons were No. 7 in the most recent NCAA Division II Central Region Rankings and could still earn an at-large bid into the Central Region Tournament. The tournament field will be announced by the NCAA on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Harding's point Saturday came at No. 1 doubles, where Laura Golubic and Piper Huey improved to 22-5 as a team with an 8-5 victory. The 22 victories is the most ever by a Harding doubles team.

Golubic, playing at No. 2 singles, and Brittany Smyser, playing at No. 4, were both within one game of winning their singles matches when Southeastern clinched with a victory at No. 1.
