Today's Harding Sports Top 10
  1. Harding softball, 3-1 on the season, had a change in its plans this weekend and will now play four games in Hays, Kansas, instead of playing six games in Bentonville, Arkansas. Heavy rains in Bentonville forced the move.
  2. Harding opens with Upper Iowa of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. The teams will be meeting for the first time. Harding's second game will be against host Fort Hays State of the MIAA. The teams will also be meeting for the first time.
  3. Junior Peyton Mills hit .500 in Harding's opening tournament, and freshman pitcher Emily Garrett went 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA in 12 2/3 innings, earning GAC Pitcher of the Week honors.
  4. Harding baseball opens its Great American Conference season Saturday, and weather has forced a change there as well. The series was scheduled to be played in Searcy, but weather issues have moved the series to Alva.
  5. Harding will take on Northwestern Oklahoma, a team the Bisons have defeated in 12 of the 15 matchups between the teams. Last season, the teams split four games in Alva.
  6. Harding enters the series off a midweek doubleheader sweep of Williams Baptist in which the Bisons scored 33 runs. The offensive explosion helped boost Harding's batting average to .272 and lift the Bisons' average scoring output per nine innings to 9.4 runs.
  7. Harding women's basketball has won seven of its last eight games and moved as high as it can in the GAC standings at fourth place. The Lady Bisons will look to maintain that spot as they host Southern Arkansas, one of two teams tied for the eighth and final GAC Tournament spot.
  8. Harding has won 12 of the last 13 meetings against Southern Arkansas in Searcy, but Southern Arkansas won the first meeting this season, 65-58, in Magnolia.
  9. Harding men's basketball has won two of its last three games at home and will take on a Southern Arkansas team that has not won in Searcy since 2002.
  10. Southern Arkansas won the first meeting 88-55 in Magnolia. The Muleriders shot 13 of 24 from 3-point range in that victory.
