Szarzynska Runs HU's Third-Fastest 800; Provisionally Qualifies for Nationals

DES MOINES, Iowa – Harding freshman Kinga Szarzynska ran the third-fastest 800-meter time in program history Thursday in playing fifth at the Drake Relays.

Szarzynska finished in 2 minutes, 9.84 seconds. She also became just the third Lady Bison to run the 800 in under 2:10.00. Ewa Zaborowska holds the school record at 2:09.63, with Hanna Ritakallio's 2:09.65 in 2001 second.

Her time provisionally qualifies her for the Division II outdoor national championship and places her in the top 15 in Division II.
