Harding Football Places Five on Don Hansen Division II All-America Team

BROOKFIELD, Illinois — The Don Hansen Football Committee has released the 2018 Don Hansen NCAA Division II All-America team.

Harding placed sophomore fullback Cole Chancey and senior center Bryce Bray on the first team. Senior defensive end T.J. Winslow landed on the second team, with senior offensive guard Keith Pledger on the third team and senior linebacker Sam Blankenship on the honorable mention list.

The Don Hansen team carries out the legacy of longtime small college football advocate Don Hansen, who died at age 75, Aug. 29, 2010. Hansen, from Brookfield, Illinois, started and published Don Hansen's National Weekly Football Gazette for three decades, selecting NCAA Division II All-America teams for the first time in 1988. Don Hansen's Football Gazette began selecting Division II All-Region squads in 2003.

Chancey, of Commerce, Georgia, rushed for 961 yards and 14 TD. Bray, of Rogers, Arkansas, started all 12 games and helped lead Harding to 341.1 rushing yards per game and 50 rushing TD. Winslow, a Houston native, was the Great American Conference Defensive Player of the Year, recording 24 tackles, including 10.5 sacks. Pledger, of Lonoke, Arkansas, started all 12 games at left guard, and Blankenship, a Tulsa native, led the team with 73 tackles.

Harding went 9-3 in 2018 and reached the NCAA Division II Playoffs for the third consecutive season.
