RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the league's Players of the Week awards for the second week of the 2019 tennis season. Harding's Lindy Carpenter garnered the Women's honor and Southern Arkansas' Stuart Rehfuss earned the Men's accolade.
GAC WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Lindy Carpenter, Harding, Fr., New Braunfels, Texas
Carpenter finished as the only member of the Lady Bisons to tally five wins last week as she netted three doubles wins and a pair of singles victories. She paired with Rylie Cox for a 7-5 win at No. 1 doubles in Harding's first win against Drury since 2002. The pair improved to 4-1 with a win against Nebraska-Kearney and she added a straight-set victory from the No. 6 position.
GAC MEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Stuart Rehfuss, Southern Arkansas, So., Xanten, Germany
Rehfuss led the Muleriders to three team wins as they defeated Spring Hill College, Christian Brothers and Rhodes College in Memphis. Rehfuss played with Aleksandr Pokusaev to score three wins from the No. 1 doubles position. Playing as SAU's No. 1 singles player, he went 3-0, including a pair of straight-set triumphs.
