Harding Women's Tennis Wins Twice in Memphis, Runs Streak to Seven

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Harding women's tennis continued its recent outstanding play with a pair of victories Saturday. The Lady Bisons won 6-1 over Alabama Huntsville of the Gulf South Conference and a 9-0 blanking of NAIA opponent Rhodes.

Harding's win over Rhodes pushed its current winning streak to seven matches and its overall record to 10-5. Alabama Huntsville dropped to 1-4, and Rhodes fell to 2-2.

In the Alabama Huntsville match, Harding won the doubles point with victories at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. Harding collected singles points from Rylie Cox Evans (No. 1), Lindy Carpenter (No. 3), Allison Carpenter (No. 4), Emily Carpenter (No. 5) and Rachel McCrae (No. 6). All of the wins came in straight sets except at No. 1 where Evans won 4-6, 6-4, 10-8.

The Rhodes match was played using NAIA scoring rules with Harding winning all three doubles matches and all six singles matches in straight sets.

Harding is off until Friday, March 6, when it will play Ouachita Baptist in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, and Texas A&M-Texarkana in Texarkana, Arkansas.
