Harding Men's Soccer Places Three on All-GAC Teams; Savage Named First Team

SEARCY – Harding men's soccer had three players honored Thursday by the Great American Conference, who announced its awards for the six-game spring regular season.

Junior defender Jack Savage received First Team All-GAC, and sophomore midfielder Georgios Petousis and junior defender Jaelen Jackson both earned Second Team honors.

Savage, an accounting major from Carrollton, Texas, took his second First Team award, also earning placement on the top team in 2018. Savage started and played every minute in five of Harding's games. He helped Harding to a 2-2-1 record on those games, allowing only six goals and participating in the 1-0 shutout of Ouachita in the season finale.

Petousis, an exercise science major from Asini, Greece, and in his first season at Harding, scored two of the Bisons' seven goals for the season. He started all six games and led the team with nine shots on goal and two game-tying goals. Petousis scored Harding second goal in a 3-2 double overtime loss to Northeastern State and netted the Bisons' lone goal in a 1-1 double overtime tie with No. 8-ranked Rogers State.

A junior information systems major from Brampton, Ontario, Canada, Jackson earned his first All-GAC honor. He started all six games on the Bison backline and played the full 90 minutes in Harding's shutout of Ouachita. Harding allowed only three goals in Jackson's last four starts.

Harding concluded the six-game season with a 2-3-1 record and a fifth-place finish in the seven-team conference.
