Five Baseball Bisons Earn Postseason GAC Academic Honors

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – On Monday, the Great American Conference announced its baseball Elite and Scholar Athlete recipients. Winners came from the eight teams that qualified for the GAC Baseball Championships.
 
Harding's Sage White and Henderson State's Greyson Stevens each received the Elite Scholar Athlete honor. Both own perfect 4.00 grade-point averages.
 
A total of 26 student-athletes achieved the Distinguished Scholar Athlete accolade. To earn the honor, one must have at least a 3.70 GPA with 70 hours of completed classwork. Northwestern Oklahoma State led the GAC with seven Distinguished Scholar Athlete honorees in Thomas Beiswanger, Wyatt Bergner, Brady Bowles, Garrett Crone, Kaleb Honea, Daschal Johnson and Preston Lonadier.
 
Harding and Southern Arkansas both produced four Distinguished Scholar Athletes. David Butterfield, Carter McCall, Cody Smith and Caleb Stull represented the Bisons while Matthew Aiken, Ty Bowring, Tucker Burton and Jack Liddell garnered the recognition from the Muleriders.
 
Arkansas Tech's Kandon Bennett, Logan Schwenke and Austin Terrell claimed Distinguished Scholar awards as well as Oklahoma Baptist's Caleb Bly, Tyler Frank and Sam Webb.
 
Matt Lundh and Reed Odland earned the honor from Arkansas-Monticello along with Henderson State's Braden Carpenter and Alex Day plus Southwestern Oklahoma State's Nate Postlethwait.
