Harding Women Post Two Provisionals and Break Two Records at Washburn Meet

TOPEKA, Kan. – Competing in a meet with more than 60 teams, the Harding women's indoor track and field team recorded three NCAA provisional marks, won two event victories and broke a pair of school records at the Washburn Open, held at the Washburn Indoor Athletic Facility.

To qualify for the national championship meet, athletes must first reach the NCAA provisional standard.

Senior Anne-Noelle Clerima placed second in the 400 meters with an NCAA provisional and Harding school-record time of 56.56 seconds. Clerima held the previous record at 56.61 seconds.
Sophomore Sierra White won her second straight indoor pole vault victory, clearing a provisional 3.90 meters (12-9.5).

The third provisional mark came from freshman Sofie Reitbauer in the pentathlon. She compiled 3,340 points in placing second. She placed in the top four in all five events of the competition.
Harding's second event victory was in the high jump, where freshman Kiera Blankinship cleared 1.60 meters (5-3).

Sophomore Mariah Miller broke her own school record in the triple jump. She placed fourth with a mark of 11.63 meters (38-2), topping her previous mark by one centimeter.

Harding has four women provisionally qualified for the national meet. Clerima is ranked 14th in Division II in the 400 meters (56.56). Senior Kinga Szarzynska is 16th in the 800 meters (2:13.63). White is sixth in the pole vault (4.03 meters), and Reitbauer is 17th in the pentathlon (3,340 points).

Harding's next action is Feb. 4-5 at the MSSU Lion Invitational, hosted by Missouri Southern State University in Joplin.
