Clerima Breaks HU 400-Meter Record in Kansas

PITTSBURG, Kan. – Harding women's track and field had more than 20 athletes in competition Friday and Saturday at the Seventh Annual Indoor Gorilla Classic, hosted by Pittsburg State University.

Harding had two NCAA provisional times. Senior Anne-Noelle Clerima placed ninth in the 400 meters in 56.31 seconds, breaking her own school record of 56.56 seconds. She currently ranks 22nd in NCAA Division II in the 400 meters.

Senior Kinga Szarzynska also ran a provisional time in the 800 meters. She placed seventh with a season-best time of 2:12.93. Szarzynska ranks 27th in Division II in the 800.

The Lady Bisons also had four other top 10 finishers. Freshman Kiera Blankinship placed second in the high jump at 1.60 meters (5-3). Sophomore Nieves Megias was fifth in the 5,000 meters with a PR of 17:49.21. Sophomore Mariah Miller placed sixth in the triple jump at 11.56 meters (37-11.25). Senior Cara Mason was eighth in the shot put at 13.36 meters (43-10).
