White Breaks Harding Pole Vault Record at Bison Open

SEARCY – Sophomore Sierra White broke her own school record in the pole vault Saturday, one of nine event victories and three NCAA provisional marks for Harding at the Bison Open.

White cleared 4.10 meters or 13 feet, 5.25 inches on her second attempt. It was the sixth-highest clearance in NCAA Division II this season and was her 10th career event victory in the outdoor pole vault.

Harding's other two provisional marks also came in the field events. Senior Cara Mason won the shot put with a provisional mark of 14.38 meters or 47 feet, 2.25 inches, and sophomore Anna Kay Clark won the javelin with a provisional mark of 45.66 meters or 149 feet, 10 inches.

Freshman Antiwain Jones won the high jump by clearing an NCAA provisional height of 2.05 meters or 6 feet, 8.75 inches.

Harding's other event victories included: senior Kinga Szarzynska in the 1,500 meters (4:57.41), senior Sydney Tabor in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (12:04.38), junior Brylan Williams in the high jump (1.61m, 5-3.25), sophomore Mariah Miller in the triple jump (11.88m, 38-11.75), and Mason in the hammer (50.08m, 164-4). Harding also won the 4x400-meter relay in 4:03.89.
