Harding Women Open Tennis Season at SBU Fall Invitational

BOLIVAR, Mo. – Harding's doubles team of Georgia Plunkett and Karli Roux reached the finals of the doubles draw at the SBU Fall Invitational, hosted by Southwest Baptist over the weekend. Plunkett and Roux, both newcomers to Harding this season, won two matches before falling in the finals.

The tournament included players from Harding, Southwest Baptist, Missouri-St. Louis and McKendree.

Plunkett, Roux and junior Romane Britt all reached the quarterfinals of Flight A singles. Junior Rachel McCrae won two matches to reach the semifinals of Flight B singles.

McCrae has now won 18 tournament matches in her career, second only to the 26 by Alicia Rojas from 1993-96. She is 18-9 in tournament play during her career.

Harding's fall season continues at the ITA Central Region Tournament in Edmond, Oklahoma, Sept. 23-25.
