Harding Climbs to No. 6 in AFCA Coaches Poll

SEARCY – With its 41-10 home win over Ouachita Baptist on Saturday before an overflow crowd at First Security Stadium, Harding football moved up three places to No. 6 in the latest American Football Coaches Association Top 25 Poll. The Bisons moved to No. 7 in the D2Football.com poll and up one spot to No. 4 on MasseyRatings.com.

Harding, 7-0 on the season for only the second time in program history, has now appeared in 59 consecutive AFCA polls, dating to the final poll of the 2017 season. That 2017 poll was also the last time Harding was ranked as high as No. 6.

In the Ouachita Baptist game, Harding rushed for 427 yards and five touchdowns. Sophomore Braden Jay carried 10 times for a career-high 131 yards and two touchdowns, and senior Nathaniel Wallace had 2.5 sacks and forced a fumble that turned the tide of the game.

Harding plays its first of two consecutive games away from home Saturday against Southern Arkansas. Kickoff at the Murphy USA Classic at Memorial Stadium in El Dorado, Arkansas, is at 2 p.m.
