Box Score The Harding women's tennis team grabbed their second victory of the season with a 5-2 win over Texas Permian Basin on Saturday in Plano, Texas. The Lady Bisons are now 2-1 on the season and have two additional wins against junior college teams.
The Lady Bisons opened the match grabbing the doubles point by taking the first two sets of the day. Reka Pecsi and Karli Roux combined for the 6-2 victory at No. 2 doubles in their first match of the season as partners. Madison Stafford and Alexia Zarate Valdez won their fifth match of the season, winning 6-1 at No. 3.
Sofia Sarmiento Ruiz scored the Lady Bisons second point of the match with a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 5, for her fifth victory of the year. After the Falcons got on the board with a victory at No. 6, Stafford grabbed a 6-3, 6-4 victory at No. 3, to push the match score to 3-1.
The Falcons cut the Lady Bisons lead to 3-2 before Harding took the final two matches of the day. Karli Roux needed three sets to clinch the match for the Lady Bisons, winning 6-4, 2-6, 7-5 at No. 1. Valdez closed out the match with a come from behind 3-6, 6-3, 7-6 victory at No. 2.
The Lady Bisons will return to the court on Sunday as they take on Angelo St. at 12 p.m.
