Box Score 2 The Harding women's tennis team split matches this weekend falling to Lubbock Christian 4-3 and defeating MSU Denver 4-1. The Lady Bisons are now 3-3 on the season, and they have an additional three wins over junior colleges.
On Friday, the Lady Bisons opened the match by secure the doubles point. Grace Dodd and Georgia Plunkett grabbed the 6-2 victory at No. 1 to open the match. Madison Stafford and Alexia Zarate Valdez clinched the point with a 6-3 victory at No. 3.
Sofia Sarmentio Ruiz put the Lady Bisons up 2-0 with a 6-3, 6-2 victory at No. 5. The Lady Chaps grabbed the next three singles matches before Karli Roux leveled the match with a 7-6, 7-6 victory at No. 2. The Lady Chaps took the final match with a 7-5, 4-6, 6-3 win at No. 3.
On Saturday the lady Bisons opened the match by dropping the doubles point. Sarmiento Ruiz won her second singles match of the weekend, winning 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3. Zarate Valdez picked up a 6-2, 6-4 victory at No. 2. Plunkett pushed the Lady Bisons to a 3-1 lead with a 7-5, 6-1 victory at No. 6. Natalia Alvarez clinched the match with a 6-3, 0-6, 6-4 win at No. 5.
The Lady Bisons will return to the Elliott Tennis Complex on Thursday February 29 as they host Arkansas Fort Smith beginning at 1 p.m.
