Box Score Coming off a loss on Friday, the Harding women's tennis team traveled to Arkadelphia to take on Ouachita Baptist and came away with their first conference win of the season, winning 6-1. The Lady Bisons improved to 12-7 on the season with three additional wins against junior colleges and are 1-2 in GAC play.
The Lady Bisons opened the match by winning the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2. The No. 37th-ranked doubles pairing of Romane Britt and Karli Roux won their 13th match of the season 6-2 at No. 1. Georgia Plunkett and Alexia Zarate Valdez won 6-2 at No. 2 to pick up their first win as a pair.
Natalia Alvarez picked up the first singles victory of the day for the Lady Bisons with a 7-5, 6-2 victory at No. 5. Sofia Sarmiento Ruiz won her team-leading 16th victory at No. 4, 6-3, 7-6. Zarate Valdez clinched the match for the Lady Bisons with a 6-4, 6-2 victory at No. 2. Britt came from behind at No. 3, winning 1-6, 6-1, 6-4. Itza Rogel picked up the Lady Bisons last victory of the day at No. 6, winning in a match tiebreaker, 7-5, 4-6, 12-10.
The Lady Bisons will play their third match in as many days on Sunday as they host Henderson State at the Elliott Tennis Complex beginning at 1 p.m.
