SEARCY – The Harding baseball team will take on No. 5 Missouri Southern at 5 p.m., Thursday in the first round of the double-elimination central region two tournament in Joplin, Missouri.
Missouri Southern is the No. 2 seed and host. The Lions have a 42-13 record and earned the automatic bid after defeating Central Missouri in the MIAA Tournament Championship.
It marks the second time in school history Harding has been to the NCAA Tournament. The Bisons head into the tournament with a 36-17 overall record.
The Bisons finished the GAC regular season with a 23-10 record to earn a three-way tie for the regular season championship. Those two other teams Harding tied with are in this regional – Arkansas Tech and Arkansas-Monticello.
The No. 3 seed Arkansas Tech will face No. 6 seed Arkansas-Monticello at 1 p.m., to kick off the regional. A tournament bracket can be found at the regional homepage below.
