Harding Football Remains No. 2; Miller, Griffin Receive National Weekly Honors; UAM Next

SEARCY - Harding football maintained the No. 2 ranking in the newly released AFCA Coaches Poll (October 20, 2025). This ranking extends the Bisons' impressive streak of consecutive appearances in the AFCA poll to 85 weeks (Honoring former #85, Brad Whinery, with the story image. They also remain No. 2 in the D2Football.com Poll.

With a perfect 7-0 record following a decisive 35-10 victory over Henderson State this past Saturday (October 18th), the Bisons are undefeated after seven games for the third time in program history. The GAC now has another ranked team, with Southern Arkansas entering the poll at No. 25. Harding defeated Southern Arkansas 31-12 on Sept. 20.

Player Awards: NCAA Record Shattered!

Harding's performance was highlighted by exceptional individual achievements, earning both conference and national accolades:

Andrew Miller Shatters NCAA Division II Rushing Record

Andrew Miller's performance against Henderson State was a history-making event.

  • New NCAA DII Record: Miller set the NCAA Division II record for rushing yards in a single quarter by running for 233 yards on just seven carries in the third quarter.

  • Previous Record: This feat shatters the previous DII record of 187 yards, set by Vaughn Magee of Southern Connecticut against St. Anselm in 2012.

  • GAC Player of the Week: Miller was named the GAC Offensive Player of the Week after finishing the game with a school-record 298 rushing yards and four touchdowns. His performance included long-distance scores of 75 and 90 yards in the third quarter.

  • National Recognition: He was also named the D2Football.com and Walter Camp D2 Offensive Player of the Week.

Defensive Dominance

  • Clark Griffin (Defensive Player of the Week): Griffin had a career day, tallying a GAC-leading 18 tackles. He forced two fumbles, recovering one in the first quarter, and broke up two passes.

  • National Recognition: Griffin was named the Walter Camp D2 Defensive Player of the Week.
