SEARCY, Ark. – Senior linebacker Clark Griffin and junior running back Andrew Miller were named to the 2025 AFCA Division II Coaches' All-America Teams, the American Football Coaches Association announced Wednesday.
Griffin, the Great American Conference Defensive Player of the Year, earned First Team honors, while Miller, a finalist for the Harlon Hill Trophy, was named to the Second Team.
The duo becomes the latest Bisons to receive recognition from the AFCA, widely considered one of the most prestigious All-America teams as it is selected exclusively by head coaches.
Clark Griffin (First Team Defense)
Griffin has been the heart of a Bison defense that enters the national championship game ranked No. 1 in the nation in scoring defense (10.8 ppg). A native of Mountain Brook, Alabama, Griffin leads Harding with a school-record and NCAA II-best 156 tackles and 12.0 tackles for loss this season.
He is the on-field general for a unit that has posted four shutouts and leads the country in red zone defense. Griffin's selection marks a continuation of defensive excellence for the program; he is the sixth Harding defensive player to earn All-America from the AFCA and the first linebacker.
Andrew Miller (Second Team Offense)
Miller's Second Team selection comes in the midst of a record-breaking campaign. The junior from Searcy, Arkansas, has rushed for 1,978 yards and 27 touchdowns this season, both school records.
The engine of the nation's top-ranked rushing attack (446.5 ypg), Miller recently set the program record for rushing yards in a single quarter (233) and has eclipsed 100 yards in 10 different games this year. He joins Romo Westbrook (2014) as Harding running backs to earn AFCA All-America status.
National Context
The AFCA All-America Team is headlined nationally by Virginia Union running back Curtis Allen and Livingstone defensive lineman Kenyon Garner. The teams are chosen by members of the AFCA Division II All-America Selection Committee, which represents all seven districts of NCAA Division II.
Griffin, Miller, and the rest of the Bisons are headed to McKinney, Texas, to prepare to face Ferris State in the NCAA Division II National Championship game. Kickoff is scheduled for Saturday at 3 p.m. on ESPN2.
