LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Harding junior fullback Andrew Miller finished as the runner-up in the voting for the 2025 Harlon Hill Trophy, the Division II College Football Player of the Year award, the Little Rock Touchdown Club and Great American Conference announced Friday.
Virginia Union senior running back Curtis Allen won the award, receiving 193 total points in voting conducted by Division II sports information directors.
Miller tied with Indianapolis quarterback Gavin Sukup for second place, finishing 92 points behind Allen. Minnesota State Moorhead quarterback Jack Strand placed fourth.
A total of 104 SIDs participated in the final voting, with athletes receiving three points for a first-place vote, two for second and one for third.
Miller, a native of Searcy, Arkansas, has powered a Harding offense that leads the nation in rushing. He has helped the Bisons (15-0) reach the NCAA Division II National Championship game for the second time in three seasons.
Miller enters Saturday's title game against Ferris State with 1,978 rushing yards and 27 touchdowns. Both totals rank second in Division II only to Allen. Miller averages 7.49 yards per carry and has been dominant in the postseason, rushing for 615 yards and eight touchdowns in Harding's four playoff victories.
Allen, the first player from the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) to win the award, rushed for 2,386 yards—the fifth-highest total in Division II history. He led the nation with 30 rushing touchdowns and surpassed 100 yards in every game this season, including a 369-yard, five-touchdown performance against Bluefield State. Allen is the first running back to win the Harlon Hill Trophy since Bloomsburg's Franklin Quiteh in 2013.
The Harlon Hill Trophy is named for the late Harlon Hill, the former University of North Alabama standout who excelled with the Lions from 1950-53 before starring in the National Football League with the Chicago Bears.
Miller and the Bisons face No. 1 Ferris State for the national championship Saturday at 3 p.m. in McKinney, Texas.
