Booker Named GAC Defensive Player of the Week

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced its weekly men's basketball honors on Monday, naming Harding graduate student Wesley Booker the GAC Defensive Player of the Week for the fourth week of the season.

Booker, a native of Mount Vernon, Arkansas, was a dominant force in the paint, playing a pivotal role in extending the Bisons' current winning streak to six games. Across a perfect 2-0 week to open conference play, Booker averaged 8.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game.

Week 4 Highlights

Booker's defensive presence was felt in both victories against the Oklahoma schools:

  • vs. Southwestern Oklahoma State: Booker anchored the defense, tallying six defensive rebounds, a block, and a steal to help secure the win against the Bulldogs.

  • vs. Northwestern Oklahoma State: He elevated his play even further against the Rangers, grabbing a season-high 10 rebounds and rejecting three shots to lock down the victory.
