Box Score MONTICELLO, Ark. — Wesley Booker delivered a career performance with 31 points and 12 rebounds, and Harding dominated the glass to rout Arkansas-Monticello 70-45 on Tuesday night at Steelman Fieldhouse.
Booker, a fifth-year senior, was unstoppable in Harding's first true road game of the season. He shot 6 of 11 from 3-point range—nearly doubling his season total for made threes entering the game—and went 11 of 12 from the free-throw line. His offensive explosion, his first career game with more than 20 points, powered the Bisons (7-2, 3-0 GAC) to their seventh consecutive victory.
Despite shooting just 33.3% from the field as a team, Harding controlled the game through sheer volume and defensive intensity. The Bisons outrebounded the Weevils 50-27, including a massive 19-7 advantage on the offensive glass. Those extra possessions allowed Harding to attempt 15 more shots and nine more free throws than UAM.
Harding's defense, ranked top-20 nationally entering the contest, stifled the Weevils all night. UAM (4-5, 0-3 GAC) was held to 35.6% shooting and made just 5 of 15 free throws.
The Bisons' perimeter defense completely neutralized UAM's leading scorer, Jakob Zenon. Zenon, who entered the game leading the conference in 3-pointers, was held to just four points on 1-of-8 shooting (1-of-7 from deep).
Marko Rangan joined Booker in double figures with 14 points and six rebounds for Harding. Keyln McBride struggled from the floor (1-of-8) but expertly managed the game, dishing out seven assists with zero turnovers while grabbing seven rebounds.
Harding led wire-to-wire, building a 32-23 halftime lead before blowing the game open in the second half. A Booker 3-pointer with 3:17 remaining gave the Bisons their largest lead of the night at 28 points.
Isaac Jackson led Arkansas-Monticello with 16 points, but he was the lone bright spot for an offense that never found its rhythm against Harding's pressure.
The Bisons were nearly automatic from the charity stripe, hitting 23 of 24 attempts (95.8%), while UAM struggled to a 33.3% clip.
Harding returns home Saturday to face Henderson State.
