No. 40 Harding Women's Tennis Falls to No. 5 Washburn, 5-2

Box Score EDMOND, Okla. — The No. 40 Harding women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to No. 5 Washburn on Saturday.

Harding secured two singles victories, with No. 29 Karli Roux defeating Leonie Floeth 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2 singles. The win marked Roux's third consecutive victory and her team-best ninth dual win this season.

Madison Stafford also earned a singles win for Harding, taking down No. 55 Daniela Tijaro 6-4, 2-6, 10-7 at No. 4 singles. The victory marked Stafford's 10th overall win this season.

Washburn swept the doubles matches, with the duo of Renske Ubachs and Tijaro defeating Alexia Zarate Valdez and Roux 7-6, 7-4 at No. 1 doubles.

In singles action, Washburn's Ubachs defeated Zarate Valdez 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1 singles, while Saajida Razick took down Itza Rogel 6-0, 6-4 at No. 3 singles.

The loss drops Harding to 5-8 on the season, while Washburn improves to 8-1.
