SEARCY, Ark. - Harding University's women's track and field team had a busy weekend, competing in three different meets and achieving several notable results.
At the Carl Kight Invitational, freshman Carly Tucker led the way for the Bisons, finishing fifth in the heptathlon with a career-high 4,483 points. Tucker's performance ranks sixth on Harding's career performers list. Her best event was the long jump, where she scored 747 points.
At the Little Rock Invitational, Harding athletes recorded multiple strong performances, including three NCAA provisional qualifying marks. Tetiana Kharashchuk took first place in the 400 meters with a time of 53.95, while Lisa Retailleau won both the 800 meters (2:12.72) and the 400 hurdles (1:02.05). Retailleau's 800-meter time was an NCAA provisional qualifier. Hanna Onufriieva achieved an NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the triple jump, finishing third with a distance of 12.32 meters (40 feet, 5 inches).
Other notable performances at Little Rock included Jelrana Williams, who finished fifth in the 100 meters (11.83) and sixth in the 200 meters (24.45), and Omolara Ogunmakinju, who placed third in the 200 meters (24.24). In the pole vault, Cadence Sansom and Karyna Vehner tied for first, both clearing 3.75 meters (12 feet, 3.5 inches).
At the Rhodes 7-Way Meet, Harding athletes also posted strong results. Kewes Gomes took second in the 100 meters (12.42) and first in the 100-meter hurdles (15.31), while Kadi Vaughn won the long jump with a mark of 5.18 meters (17 feet, 0 inches) and placed fourth in the 100 meters (12.64). Veagen Jones won the 800 meters with a time of 2:17.71. Rachel Millikan had a good day in the discus, finishing second with a mark of 42.96 meters (140 feet, 11 inches).
