SEARCY — The Harding women's tennis program has been recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) as an All-Academic Team for the 2024-25 academic year, boasting an impressive 3.47 team grade point average. In addition, five Lady Bisons — junior Natalia Alvarez, sophomore Ece Boylu, junior Sofia Sarmiento Ruiz, senior Madison Stafford and Alexia Zarate Valdez — earned individual ITA Scholar-Athlete honors.
To qualify for the ITA All-Academic Team award, programs must maintain a team GPA of 3.2 or above on a 4.00 scale.
The individual ITA Scholar-Athlete distinction was awarded to Alvarez, an interior architecture and design major from Santa Cruz, Bolivia, achieved a 3.64 GPA. Boylu, a management major from Ankara, Turkey, posted a 3.71 GPA. Sarmiento Ruiz, a computer science major from Tuxtla Gutierrez, Mexico, earned a 3.92 GPA. Stafford, a biology major from Dallas, Texas, had a 3.90 GPA, and Zarate Valdez, an international business major from San Luis Potosi, Mexico, posted a 3.61 GPA.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, individuals must achieve a grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.00 scale for the current academic year.
