Harding Football Ranked No. 2 in AFCA and D2Football.com Polls

SEARCY — Harding football stayed at No. 2 ranking in both the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) and D2Football.com NCAA Division II polls this week, following a dominant season-opening victory. The No. 2 position marks the 79th consecutive AFCA poll in which the Bisons have been ranked, a streak that dates back to the final poll of the 2017 season.

The Bisons opened their 2025 campaign with a convincing 49-7 road win over Northwestern Oklahoma. The Harding offense, known for its powerful ground game, amassed 484 rushing yards, setting a commanding tone for the season. The defense was equally impressive, holding the Rangers to just 66 yards of total offense, with the Northwestern Oklahoma's only score coming on a fumble return.

Harding will next play host to Southwestern Oklahoma at First Security Stadium this Thursday. The Bulldogs are coming off a 32-10 loss to Arkansas Tech in their season opener. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at First Security Stadium.

(Note: To mark Harding's 79th consecutive poll, a previous #79 was selected from Harding's history. Today's honoree is Dallon Hudson.)
