Lacey Named NCBWA Preseason First Team All-America

SEARCY, Ark. – Harding University senior third baseman Logan Lacey added a premier national honor to his resume on Thursday, as the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) named him a 2026 First-Team Preseason All-American.

Lacey, a native of North Richland Hills, Texas, is one of just 17 players nationally selected to the first team. The honor comes just days after Lacey was named a preseason All-American by D2 Baseball and a unanimous preseason All-Central Region selection.

The senior is coming off a massive 2025 season in which he anchored a Bisons lineup that captured the program's first Great American Conference Tournament title. Last spring, Lacey posted a .338 batting average and blasted 19 home runs, ranking second in the GAC. He proved to be one of the region's most versatile threats, leading the conference with 70 runs scored while also stealing 18 bases and driving in 58 runs.

Lacey's statistical profile from a year ago included a .676 slugging percentage and a 1.145 OPS, making him one of the most feared hitters in the Central Region.

The Central Region was well-represented on the NCBWA national list. Joining Lacey on the first team were designated hitter Dagen Brewer (Pittsburg State) and utility player Louis Magers (Minnesota State). Two other GAC standouts earned national recognition, as Arkansas Tech shortstop Cole Dawson and Northwestern Oklahoma State pitcher Will Kates were named to the third team.
