FORT SMITH, Ark. – The Harding women's tennis team bounced back in emphatic fashion Saturday afternoon, rolling to a 6-1 non-conference victory over the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith at the Fort Smith Athletic Club.

After dropping their season opener to Drury last week, the Lady Bisons (1-1) dominated from the start, winning the doubles point and five of the six singles matches to secure their first win of the spring under head coach Craig Kirchgessner.

Harding set the tone early by sweeping through doubles play. The Lady Bisons were handed an early advantage at the No. 3 position due to a forfeit, and the top of the lineup made sure the lead held.

The No. 8-ranked duo of Karli Roux and Brooke Coffman continued their perfect start to the dual-match season, defeating Arianna DeBernardo and Rayssa Dominguez 6-2 at the No. 1 spot. Meanwhile, Sofia Sarmiento Ruiz and Mia Hosking clinched the point with a clinical 6-1 win over Chiara Sobenes and Gracie Pereff at No. 2.

The momentum carried directly into singles, where Harding quickly put the match out of reach.

• Karli Roux was the first off the court at No. 1, rebounding from a tough loss last week with a dominant 6-2, 6-1 win over DeBernardo.

• Freshman Brooke Coffman improved to 2-0 in dual matches this spring, taking down Antonietta Bocache 7-5, 6-1 at the No. 3 flight.

• Sofia Sarmiento Ruiz clinched the team victory at No. 4, blanking Gracie Pereff in the first set en route to a 6-0, 6-2 win.

Ece Boylu added to the tally at No. 5 with a 6-3, 6-1 victory, while Mia Hosking earned a win at No. 6 via forfeit. The Lions' lone point came in a marathon battle at No. 2, where Rayssa Dominguez outlasted Harding's Natalia Alvarez.
