Roux Named GAC Women’s Tennis Player of the Week

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Following a dominant performance against elite regional competition, Harding senior Karli Roux has been named the Great American Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday.

Roux, a native of Cape Town, South Africa, led the Lady Bisons during a grueling three-match road trip to Tyler, Texas. Competing at the top of the lineup, she finished the week with a perfect 3-0 record in No. 1 singles and a 2-1 mark in No. 1 doubles.

The highlight of Roux's week came against No. 21 UT Tyler, where she notched her second career victory over a nationally ranked singles opponent. Roux defeated Yona Bancarel, the No. 26-ranked player in Division II, in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2.

In doubles play, Roux teamed with freshman Brooke Coffman to showcase why they are currently the No. 8-ranked duo in the country. The pair secured a marquee 6-2 victory over UT Tyler's Bancarel and Natalia Gorzny, who entered the match as the No. 7-ranked doubles team in the nation.

Roux added two more singles victories over the weekend, defeating opponents from UT Permian Basin and Lubbock Christian to improve her dual-match singles record to 4-1 this spring.

This is Roux's first GAC Player of the Week honor of the 2026 season. Other nominees for the award included Taylor Conway (Southern Arkansas), Elis Gergel (Arkansas Tech), and Emilia Nowak (Henderson State).

The Lady Bisons (2-3) return to action Monday, Mar. 2, for their home opener against Northwest Missouri State. First serve at the David Elliott Tennis Complex is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
