RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – For the first time in over a decade, a Harding Bison has been named the league's top newcomer.
Reggie Webster earned Great American Conference Freshman of the Year honors on Wednesday as the league office announced the 2025-26 All-GAC Men's Basketball awards. Webster was one of three Bisons to earn All-Conference recognition, joined by first-team selection Keyln McBride and second-team selection Wesley Booker.
Webster, a standout guard from Mount Pleasant, Texas, becomes the first Bison to win the award in 12 seasons, joining former Harding greats Tony Cochran (2012-13) and Will Francis (2013-14) as the only players in program history to be named GAC Freshman of the Year. Matt Hall also won the honor in the Gulf South Conference in 2003-04.
In addition to being named Freshman of the Year, Webster was also selected to the All-GAC Second Team. Starting every game in his debut campaign, Webster led the Bisons in total points (364) and free throws made (101). His ability to attack the rim forced opponents into foul trouble all year, as he ranked 6th in the GAC in free throw attempts (129).
Senior guard Keyln McBride secured a spot on the All-GAC First Team after a season that ranked among the best in NCAA Division II. McBride led the GAC and ranked 2nd nationally with a staggering 3.41 assist-to-turnover ratio. He also led the conference in three-point field goal percentage (40.8%), cementing his legacy as the program's all-time leader in career triples while averaging a team-high 14.2 points per game.
Wesley Booker joined Webster on the All-GAC Second Team. The veteran forward was the anchor of the Harding defense, ranking 3rd in the GAC in blocks (29) and total rebounds (222). Booker's 7.9 rebounds per game ranked 2nd in the conference, and he led the team with seven double-doubles on the season.
Harding also set the standard in the classroom, leading the conference with six men's basketball student-athletes named Elite Scholar Athletes: Daniel Henderson, Rece Hipp, Wesley Booker, Ty Suess, Ben Linnemeyer, and Corban Mora.
The Bisons (21-7, 17-5 GAC) enter the postseason as the No. 3 seed in the GAC Championship Tournament in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
