SEARCY, Ark. – Senior Josie Parks broke a 17-year-old school record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase to highlight a weekend of split-squad action for the Harding women's track and field team at the Bryan Clay Invitational in California and the ASU Alumni Classic in Jonesboro.
Competing at Cougar Stadium in Azusa, California, Parks finished 21st in a fast steeplechase field with a time of 10:26.96. Her performance eclipsed the previous Harding record of 10:36.83, set by Katy Grant in 2009, by nearly 10 seconds. Also in California, junior Dinah Winders placed eighth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 17:36.21.
Back in Arkansas, the Lady Bisons collected five individual event wins and a relay victory at the ASU Alumni Classic hosted by Arkansas State.
Sophomore Jerlana Williams led the sprinters by winning the 100-meter dash in 11.88 seconds. Senior Tetiana Kharashchuk also claimed a top spot on the track, winning the 800-meter run in 2:11.23. Williams and Kharashchuk later teamed with Kewes Gomes and Leila Ngapout to win the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 46.38 seconds.
In the field events, junior Ally Cheek won the high jump with a mark of 1.72m (5-07.75), coming within one centimeter of the school record and moving into ninth nationally in the event. Freshman Emma Zaboronek added a victory in the javelin with a toss of 32.08m (105-03).

Pole Vault: Senior Cadence Sansom took second place, clearing 4.01m (13-01.75).

Long Jump: Sophomore Carly Tucker finished second with a leap of 5.83m (19-01.5).

Shot Put: Freshman Yedidya Bangue placed third with a mark of 14.17m (46-06).

Triple Jump: Senior Karyna Vehner finished third, posting a mark of 11.21m (36-09.5).
Harding returns to action Friday at the John McDonnell Invitational, hosted by the University of Arkansas.
